Visiting Karl Marx

One of the facts about London I learnt at school is that Karl Marx is buried at Highgate Cemetery. It took me six years to visit but the wonderful, slightly spooky atmosphere has brought me back several times since then.

I love the colourful flowers amongst the headstones, the overgrown paths and the angels on many graves who look as if they are guarding the peace. These are some pictures from a recent visit to the cemetery with my mum. The picture of Marx’ grave is from a previous trip which is why it isn’t quite as clear as the other ones.
